I’m Ellie, an artisan stitcher, dog mum and crafty creative. I’m obsessed with embroidery and upcycling - which is why - if you’re looking for someone to revamp the textiles you love, I’m your gal.
I’ve been in love with stitching and fashion for what feels like my whole life. Think, school books full of fashion sketches and spending weekends sewing clothes for my teddies and dolls. But it wasn’t until I dipped my toe into the world of fast fashion, that I realised my love went beyond the creative. It was in the connection with the people who wore and treasured the clothes I designed and created that I found the most joy.

how I got here
During my time working in a fast fashion brand I watched (and ultimately participated) in exploitation of people and the planet. Corners were cut. Timelines were shortened. Price reductions were demanded.
At 19, I probably didn’t have the awareness to realise how much this experience shaped my work and my values - but now I do.
What I dreamed of was getting swept up in a high fashion world - a bit like Andy Sachs in Devil Wears Prada - but what I actually got was a reality check that the fashion world hides plenty of dirty secrets and society is getting more and more disconnected from the clothes we wear.
This industry shaped me, not in the way I thought it would but instead into a sustainability conscious stitcher who has spent the last decade working in, and advocating for, slow fashion.
